Care Package

Isn't my sister the greatest? After taking my boys for the weekend (which was in itself so great!) she sent home this care package! I was so excited when I found it. My sis takes good care of me. When I lived close to her she was always bringing over random "deals" that she would come across, like juice or a shirt for me or the boys. She is always thinking of others. Considering how thrifty and resourceful she is she is also the most generous person, she'd give you the shirt off her back if she thought you needed it. I love you Taryn! Thanks!
My sister has recently started doing coupons. At first I didn't get it, I've never had much success with coupons, but she has it down to a science. And after seeing her posts where she shows you exactly what she bought and for how much, or rather how little, you will be amazed. I am talking groceries for pennies. Take a look at her blog, here, it will knock your socks off! Go Taryn!

**Just a side note, both of my sisters are amazing, but I've been wanting to share with you about the coupons in case someone else was interested!

***Was the theme of the box intended? Are you trying to tell me something? Is my house dirty, and stinky? JK, I love it! That was a yummy chex bar, and that juice powder was good too! Hayden likes his soap buddy! And the clean linen smells great...does that mean I don't have to take the trash out as much? Just a little spritz spritz and we're good to go!

Fall

Yea!! I am so excited for FALL. Its my absolute favorite time of year. -Maybe someday I will actually live somewhere where the leaves actually turn autumn colors and fall off the tree. But until then I will just pretend! I've been dying all month to get out my Halloween decorations, but decided I had to wait until October 1. But I am not sure I can wait that long. Today at the grocery store they had some beautiful white and orange pumpkins...I couldn't resist. I am one of those people that (if my husband would let me) would paint all my walls orange and black, okay not really, but I love the thought of it!
Oh how I love you fall, let me count the ways:
I love fall colors, I love how they make you feel all cozy, and you just want to curl up on the couch and watch old movies and eat pop corn. I just want to Drink hot cocoa, (or herbal tea for me!) and eat homemade mac and cheese or soup (oh, how I love soup!) I love sweaters, and socks, and warm fuzzy blankets. I love Charlie Brown's pumpkin patch movie! And can you smell the apple pie? MMMmmm.
Does anyone else love Fall as much as me?

Scouts

Don't I look so cute! Uggg, couldn't the shirt be a little cuter, I wonder if I am allowed to embellish it? JK. So I've recently been called to be a scout leader for Ethan's scouting group, the wolves den! Yea I am so excited. Ethan wasn't going to any of the scouting stuff before because he has tae kwon do the same day. But now that I am part of the group we changed it, one of the perks of being a leader! We have a great group of 7 boys. They are all so excited to be a part of the program and are eager to pass off all their goals...and theres a lot of them so hopefully their eagerness will last through to the end of the program (till their like 18, yikes!) But we have some really fun activities planned for them, and we are already talking about the scout camp for next summer!

Baby Mac

I came across this blog while visiting a friends blog. It's this family that has created a blog as a memorial for the death of their baby. Mac died just two days before his due date, and the Mom had to go through 11 hours of labor. I cried the whole time reading and looking at all the pictures, but at the same I was really inspired by this families faith and testimonies. At a time that I would probably loose it, they were still counting their blessings and drawing closer to our Heavenly Father. Its so easy to forget how blessed we are, and how precious life is. Its during those really hard times that we need to remember that we are not alone, and that we truly are loved and that we can find comfort if we seek it. I am grateful that this sweet family was willing to share their personal experience so that I could strengthen my own testimony. If you want to take a look at it (have your Kleenex's ready) its: http://babymckallister.blogspot.com

My story teller

Just in the last couple of weeks Hayden has turned into a chatter box. He talks (and talks and talks) from the second he wakes up until he lays his head on the pillow at night. He mostly likes to tell stories, crazy stories; like spiders and snakes battling in the dishwasher, and getting sliced on the knives- that was tonight's story. And bad guys and monsters, and ARE THEY REAL?, that's always the big question, no matter how many times I tell them "there are no monsters" he doesn't believe me. His stories usually involve blood and sadly someone usually dies. His stories aren't dramatic or overly sad, I don't want to alarm any one, sometimes they are just silly. But I have no idea where he comes up with this stuff?? He doesn't even watch TV, so I cant blame it on that. Whenever I ask him where he heard that, he always tells me his friend told him. So maybe I can blame them. JK. I am pretty sure he just comes up with it on his own. He just has a really big imagination. He is very interested in death. He is always asking me why I am killing bugs and spiders that I find in the house, and when the bug guy comes he is very concerned about the bugs. He says I am killing God's creatures. ??? Then last week there was a dead bird on the sidewalk, he almost started crying. He wanted to pick it up and bring it back to life. A while back I rented the March of the Penguins for him. Hayden LOVES PENGUINS, every time he sees a stuffed animal or book about penguins or whatever, he has to have it. So I thought he'd enjoy it. -I didn't know it was going to be so sad. He cried at the end when the parent penguins left the babies, (although I am not sure he really understood what was going on?) then he had to watch it again. If you know Hayden, you know he can't sit still for anything, and he sat and watched the movie twice....and he hasn't sat still since. Maybe it's because he's so sensitive that he's telling all these stories, he's just trying to make sense of it all.
